Nicely done Michael Clary. Clear and concise. Very simple explanation of seemingly complex theology. This is how you explain biblical things. Not with 50 dollar words and chest thumping.
I've banged heads with you on some other points, but this time I can only say 'AMEN!!'
Only those in Christ are God's People. Those whose forebears from 100 generations ago might have celebrated Passover have no claim. As has been said, God has millions of children, but no grandchildren.
I believe a common misunderstanding dispensationalists have of those who believe in covenant theology is that Jews cannot be a part of God's covenant. Any Jew who trusts in Christ for salvation and repents is justified by faith and becomes His child. That's how to truly be in a covenant with God that eternally matters.
Let me explain a part of 'everlasting Covenant' that YOU don't seem to understand. Paul says it best, in Romans 2:28,29 -
"A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person’s praise is not from other people, but from God."
In fact, Paul says that not only pagans, but also some ethnic Jews without faith in the Messiah, are enemies of the True Israel of God.
1 Thess. 2L:14 = "You suffered from your own people the same things those churches suffered from the Jews."
As Paul summarises the "Everlasting Covenant" in Romans 9:8:-
"In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring."
The Jews again, Michael? Sheesh.
I laughed when I saw this comment.
😂
