The idea of the strength we have being a gift from God reminded me of Paul’s prayer in Colossians 1:11 — “…being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might”.
Paul didn’t try to be weak. He also wrote, “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not found vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” (1 Cor. 15:10)
I’d like your take on “love your enemies “ and “ turn the other cheek .” I try to follow Christ, but if someone hit me or a family member I know I would likely go ballistic in the heat of the moment.
I have written a sci-fi trilogy that isn't about Warp Drive or zap guns, but as a way to examine various social conventions. 'Legends of Erde' looks at three different matriarchal systems to examine how power operates and what genuine masculinity looks like when stripped of machismo.

Thank you for this clarifying article, I have contemplated on many of these "backwards Bible verses". Your article also helps me understand even more the Fruit of the Mystery of Poverty in Spirit. Thank you for your work. God Bless

I address this in the book that’s coming out soon.
I look to reading it.
